Seminar for Tax Exempt Organizations

Revised Form 990 & Updated 403(b) Regulations

Attend this free seminar to learn about the most recent revisions to IRS Form 990 and the new 403(b) regulations. The not-for-profit experts of the SC&H Group will provide you with the knowledge and techniques required to comply with these complex regulations.

The Revised Form 990: What do you need to know to be prepared?

Consistent with Congress’ goal of achieving greater financial reporting transparency from tax exempt organizations, the revised Form 990 requires significantly more information and disclosures.

Through this seminar, the experts of the SC&H Group will help your organization prepare for the new requirements of the revised Form 990.

Topics will include:

  • Required changes in governance policies.
  • Changes to compensation disclosures.
  • New information requirements regarding fundraising techniques; and how these requirements may affect your organization.
  • The impact of the current political environment on not-for-profit organizations.
  • Avoidance and identification of private inurement and excess benefit transactions.
  • Other information you will need to complete the revised Form 990.

Updates to 403(b) Regulations

It has been nearly 43 years since the first 403(b) regulations were originally passed. The IRS recently developed new regulations regarding 403(b) plans to make them more similar to other salary reduction plans. These regulations will become effective for plan years beginning after December 31, 2008, with some exceptions.  Among other effects, the new regulations will often require an audit by an independent public accountant, consistent with the audit requirements of other employee benefit plans.

Topics will include:

  • The effects of the new regulations on plan sponsors.
  • Changes you will need to make to your plan in order to come into compliance with the new regulations.
  • How to plan for an audit as the plan sponsor of a 403(b) plan; and what an audit entails.

Breakfast will be served. The seminar is free of charge, but space is limited, so please register below if you plan to attend.
